Reflection
A shepherd's entire job is the wellbeing of the sheep — their food, their safety, their direction, their rest. When David declares the Lord as his shepherd, he is declaring total dependence and total provision. 'I shall not want' is not a demand but a settled confidence: if the Shepherd owns everything and cares for me, I lack nothing I truly need. Today you can follow with peace, because the One leading you is good.
Prayer
Lord, You are my Shepherd. Lead me to green pastures and still waters today, and quiet every anxious want in my heart. Amen.
