Forgiveness

Forgive as You've Been Forgiven

Day 19

"And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you."
— Ephesians 4:32
Reflection

Unforgiveness is a poison you drink hoping the other person dies. But forgiveness is not saying that what happened was acceptable — it is handing the debt to God and refusing to be its jailer. The standard is breathtaking: forgive as God forgave you. Freely, fully, without dragging up the record again. Is there a name that still stings when you hear it? Bring it to God. The freedom on the other side of forgiveness is worth the pain of the journey.

Prayer

Father, as You have forgiven me, help me to forgive those who have hurt me. Release me from bitterness and fill that space with Your peace. Amen.

Action Step

Pray a blessing over someone who has wronged you.
